What a day Saturday was!! My first experience of being part of Miss Pole Dance UK competition at The Hawth in Crawley (mine was pole cleaner and demonstrator) and I was not dissappointed! The day started at 10am with a briefing followed by practise pole climbs on the spinning and static pole. Those poles are a lot higher than they seem!! We were organised into two cleaning teams which spread the work out a bit. Being back stage was fascinating and the excitement and nerves was tangible between the contestants , also nice to be able to have a quick chat with them.
We were entertained with guest performances from Bendy Kate (who also doubled as a judge) and Ian Matthews who were both spectacular and had the benefit of watching both from the sidelines of the stage!! The strength and grace shown by all the Pole fitness contestants was staggering and inspiring at the same time and despite having a 12 hour day left me wanting to have a go on my poles when I got home. An all round great experience that I would love to be part of again next year - so wonderful to be involved with the best our sport has to offer :-)
Come and see for yourself first hand next year..... you won't regret it :-)
